Mission Statement

The Building Envelope Council Ottawa Region (BECOR), a non profit organisation, is committed to promote advanced technologies and techniques in the design, construction and performance of the building envelope. The goal of BECOR is to create a forum of participation for the improvement of the building envelope. It was formed to promote the pursuit of excellence in the design, construction and performance of the building envelope. BECOR is committed to maintaining a leadership in this highly technical field. BECOR has, in its ten years of existence, earned the recognition, active cooperation and support of a number of important industry and professional associations.

BECOR continues to pursue its' goal by creating a forum, in which everyone concerned with the improvement of the building envelope, can exchange ideas and information through a wide variety of programs, including:
  • monthly technical presentations, with free admission
  • annual seminars, with reduced rates to members
  • synopsis of the seminar material presented
  • membership on the National Building Envelope Council (NBEC), and
  • student awards program
BECOR's goal is of even more importance in our increasingly competitive economy. We must augment our efficiency and ability to compete by building better, more economical, energy and waste conserving buildings, that will promote a better quality of life and better working environment. Through the generous dedication of members and friends, and the donation of their time and resources, BECOR does make the difference.

BECOR is in the unique position to be located in the National Capital Region where a number of technical resource organizations reside. This makes BECOR fortunate to have Canada's leading research and development community available for our presentations and seminars. These organizations include:
