Monthly Sessions – New Plan

With in-person sessions resuming and BECOR members (plus subscribers) enjoying session delivery by webinar, BECOR has decided to provide a mix of webinars and in-person sessions. Furthermore, BECOR intends to establish a general annual schedule; so that members have a better idea of what to expect during the year. Despite the new mix of webinars and in-person sessions, topics will continue to be selected based on the latest information and member interests.

BECOR has developed the following schedule of events for 2023:

• January: webinar (Roof Restoration)
• February: webinar (Tentative: Code Updates)
• March: half-day in-person session (Energy Efficient Residential Construction)
  • 2024 & beyond: full-day session in March, likely co-hosted with other group(s) of like interest
• April: joint webinar with OBEC, hosted by OBEC
  • BECOR will host this joint-session in 2024, since OBEC & BECOR will alternate each year
• May: in-person Lunch & Learn
• June: webinar
• September: webinar
• October: in-person half-day session; plus AGM
• November: Webinar
• December: in-person Lunch & Learn – annual Brag Session
• Plus – field trip in May or June each year, or possibly in fall

Subsequent years will follow a similar schedule. BECOR also commits to a minimum of 2-hour long presentations (with 2.0 continuing education credits) for in-person sessions. The in-person sessions will also have lunch and networking to make the travel time to the venue more worthwhile.

Session Fees

In 2022, BECOR did not increase session fees from 2021 because we were still delivering sessions exclusively by webinar. This was possible because of our membership fee increase. This year, BECOR has re-evaluated and adjusted session fees, for both Webinar and Lunch and Learn sessions. Also, BECOR will join OBEC once per year and has harmonized our Webinar fees with those of OBEC.

Please find revised 2023 session fees below:

• Webinars: $28+HST for members (prepaid for Premium), and $45+HST for non-members
• Lunch & Learn: $60+HST for members (prepaid for Premium), and $90+HST for non-members.

Membership Fees – No Longer Include HST

Last year, BECOR increased membership fees for the first time in over ten years. However, our recent review of finances revealed that the fee increase was not enough to cover annual expenses. So, as a further membership fee adjustment, all membership fees are now priced as “plus HST”, instead of our previous approach of “including HST”.

Please find revised 2023 membership fees below:

• Premium Plus Corporate: $2,200 plus HST
• Premium Corporate: $1,650 plus HST
• Corporate: $600 plus HST
• Individual: $150 plus HST

Note that Premium and Premium Plus membership includes prepayment for all BECOR Webinars and Lunch and Learns, for five and ten attendees per session, respectively. In addition, Premium and Premium Plus members will receive a $40 discount for half-day and full-day sessions, as compared to the registration fee for Corporate and Individual members.
